Kasoulides heading for Luxembourg and Andorra

Cyprus FM Ioannis Kasoulides travels to Luxembourg for the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) and General Affairs Council (GAC). He will also pay an official visit to Andorra, it was announced on Saturday.

The FAC is taking place on Monday, June 20. The EU Ministers will discuss the integrated EU policy for the Arctic and will adopt conclusions. Ministers will then review the situation in the Sahel and take stock of the EU comprehensive approach to security and development in the region. The High Representative will brief ministers on the EU-G5 Sahel ministerial meeting, which will take place in Brussels on 17 June. The Council is expected to adopt conclusions.

The Council will also address the situation in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Over lunch, Ministers will discuss the Middle East peace process, as a follow up to the Paris conference held on 3 June.

On Friday, June 24, Kasoulides will participate in the General Affairs Council. GAC is expected to focus on preparation of the June European Council, European Semester, Inter-Institutional Agreement, Better Regulation and Transparency.

According to the announcement Kasoulides will also travel to Andorra on June 21 on an official visit. He will hold meetings with his counterpart Gilbert Saboya and will be received by the Head of the Government Antoni Marti as well as Deputy Speaker of Andorra`s Parliament Monica Bonell.
Kasoulides returns to Cyprus on June 25. (CNA)
