By Stelios Orphanides

The industrial turnover index rose in March by an annual 2.9 per cent, boosted mainly by increased sales by Cypriot manufacturers and companies in the mining and quarrying industry, the statistical service said.

The overall increase in industrial turnover in March resulted mainly from an annual 8.3 per cent increase in the turnover of Cypriot manufacturers, Cystat said in a statement on its website on Tuesday. Domestic sales of manufacturing companies rose 9.7 per cent in March while exports rose 2.8 per cent.
