Party weekend at Guaba

Guaba beach bar in Limassol is officially taking over the weekend with the Spanish DJ/producing duo Chus and Ceballos set to make waves on Saturday, while Sunday sees a first for Cyprus, a live performance by the Dutch artist DJ Dannic with Simon de Jano & Madwill from Italy.

The party weekend starts at 2pm when the duo who founded Stereo Productions – one of the most influential Spanish electronic music labels of the past decade – will make us want to grab our cocktails and dance on the beach with the sand between our toes.

The words ‘musical pioneer’ may be a tad overused when it comes to the DJs riding the music waves nowadays, but there really isn’t another phrase that quite fits Chus and Ceballos. And they truly are pioneers and inventors – we can even go that far – as they created the underground movement known as Iberican Sound.

These boys really don’t mess about when it comes to making those sounds that go one step further than what fans are already used to. They are a worldwide phenomenon, hailed for their excellent production skills, including official remixes for world-renowned artists like Madonna, Rihanna, J-Lo and Shakira.

Although they may have fame around the globe, they display remarkable versatility that enables them to play in all venues from small clubs to massive live festivals.

Their marathon DJ sets capture their genuine Iberian character, while their blending of House and Techno styles finds a perfect harmony, accentuating the unmistakable beat of the percussions.

All you Guaba fans know that the beach bar manages to get the biggest names on the DJ circuit from around the world. The bar also is where most of these artists make their debut performance on the island or where they come back for more, time and time again.

Continuing that tradition, on Sunday the bar welcomes first-timers DJ Dannic and producers from Italy Simon de Jano & Madwill.

Dannic is a progressive house DJ and producer and is well-known for his work with DJs Hardwell, Dyro, and Sick Individuals. His passion for music started when he started listening to his grandfather’s records when he was 17 and from there on, music had him under its spell. The result was (and is) pure magic as the DJ became famous with his track Automatic in 2010, placed at number 74 in the DJ Mag Top 100 in 2013 and then achieved the 26th spot in 2015, when he also created his own independent label Fonk Recordings.

Joining Dannic will be Italian DJ Simon de Jano, a graduate of the Milan Conservatory, who has rocked the stages of a number of exclusive clubs around the world, such as Amnesia Ibiza and Bamboo in Miami.

Recently the DJ has joined forces with another Italian DJ, Madwill – who also knows how to put a real spin on some of the greatest hits of the day. The duo, together with DJ Still Young, released the track Temptation in 2015 and it seems they worked well together as they continue to share a stage, bringing audiences that something extra for their musical ear.
