Short respite from higher temperatures

A slight temperature drop and rains are expected this week, but the weekend is set to be hotter, the met office said on Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to be cooler, between 35 and 36 degrees Celsius inland, until Friday. In the coastal areas, temperatures are expected to be around 33C in the south, and around 30C on the western coast.

These are average season temperatures, the met office said. On Saturday however, temperatures are expected to rise for a couple of days, up to 39C.

On Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, showers are expected, with the possibility of storms in the mountainous areas and inland.
