Thousands in jewellery, cash stolen from Kouklia house

The owner of a villa in Paphos reported to police that his house was burgled on Thursday and close to €25,000 in jewellery and cash were stolen.

The man, a Russian national, told police that the break-in took place between 7.30pm and 11pm when he was absent. Jewellery and cash worth €24,800 were stolen, the man said.

Investigators visited the house, located in the Kouklia area, and found out that the thief, or thieves, had gained entry through a veranda door, which they breached.

The house did not have an alarm or security cameras. The valuables were not insured.
