Two injured in road accident

The 20-year-old driver of a car involved in an accident that injured him and a passenger, had 62 microgrammes of alcohol in his system, police said.

The legal limit is 22.

The 20-year-old Russian national, along with a compatriot, 28, both living in Limassol, were slightly injured when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, fell in a ditch, and then crashed into an embankment.

The two were rushed to Larnaca hospital where the 20-year-old was treated for lacerations and then discharged.

The 28-year-old was admitted as a precaution.

A blood sample was taken from the driver for further tests.
