Woman hit and killed by 90-year-old driver

A Moldovan was aged 69, was run over and killed on the Astromeritis-Troodos road on Saturday night, police said.
According to a bulletin on Sunday the woman, a resident of Astromeritis, was trying to cross the road when she was hit by a car driven by a 90-year-old man whose wife was a passenger.
The Moldovan woman was rushed to Nicosia general hospitial but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The pensioner was given a breathalyser test but it came back zero, police said.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
