There is nothing like a watermelon

It seems that every fruit in Cyprus has its festival, and now is the time for the watermelon to have its turn.

The tenth Pancyprian Cultural Watermelon Festival will be giving us plenty to see, do and eat on Friday at Frenaros.

Starting at 8.15pm with a dance show by the Frenaros Community Council Cultural Club dance group, then moving on to welcoming addresses by the festival organising committee, the night is set for a traditional festival in honour of a very summery fruit.

Next up will be music by the band Asmation Live, then more greetings, but this time from the president of Frenaros Community Council and the official opening of the festival and more music.

But it is not all about talking, dancing and music, there will also be a magic show by the magic team Liotatis.

During the entire festival there will be an exhibition showcasing the different types of watermelons, watermelon sweets, and other traditional products and craft exhibitions.

The kids can also enjoy a playground with a bouncy castle, clowns, face painting and other activities.
