Although I was not caught up in the recent strike by Paphos airport workers, I and my wife did have to endure over two hours in hot and humid conditions at the airport checking in our bags and getting though security on Wednesday June 29.
Along with around a thousand fellow holiday makers, including tired young children and visibly distressed elderly folk, we were herded together like cattle with no proper form of control.
Sporadic announcements were made over the public address system in a hurried, garbled voice which few could understand. What would have happened had panic set in, I dread to think.
When will everyone connected with this sad, badly managed airport realise that punishing the customers is never a good idea? I, for one, won’t be back.
