Pensioner in hospital after car accident involving a fox

A 70-year-old man whose condition is described as serious, is being treated in Nicosia General Hospital after his car collided with a vehicle after he hit a fox on the road late Sunday.

Police reports say the accident happened at 11.40pm on the Nicosia-Limassol highway near Ayios Tychonas. Investigations carried out at the scene point to the 70-year-old’s car having hit the fox before smashing, first into the railing, then into a car driven by a 46-year-old, bringing it to a standstill. The fox was found dead in the central partition.
