Water supply restricted in Famagusta district due to problem at Dhekelia plant

Due to a technical problem at the Dhekelia desalination plant, water supply has been restricted in the Famagusta district, authorities announced on Sunday.

The water development department said work was underway to fix the problem as soon as possible but this would not be until Wednesday at the earliest, it cautioned.

It urged consumers in the district to be especially careful in the use of water and to save what they could, adding that any inconvenience was regretted.

The public would be kept informed of any new developments, it said.
