British man who left his clothes on beach found safe at apartment

Police and the joint Search and Rescue Coordination Centre were mobilised Friday morning after clothes were discovered on a Limassol beach, only to find their British owner asleep drunk at home.

Limassol CID head Ioannis Sotiriades said things were put motion after a British man reported he found his 34-year-old friend’s clothes lying on the seashore, without a trace of him.

Around noon the man was eventually found in his house, in an intoxicated state sleeping naked.
