Paralimni without water on Sunday due to wiring fault

For the second Sunday in a row, Paralimni was without a water supply, this time because water could not be transported to the town due to a faulty wire in the system.

The problem originated because of an electrical fault at the Frenaros station from where the water is pumped to the area.

According to the Paralimni water supply department, even when the problem was fixed, it took some time for residents to receive water as usual.

As demand is high at this time of the year pressure in the pipes remained low for some hours after the supply has been restored.

Last week, there was another difficulty with the district’s water supply. A technical problem at the Dhekelia desalination plant restricted the supply to the Famagusta district from Sunday to Wednesday.
