Theatre in the dark

Shadow-theatre might sound scary when you think that it takes place in a dark room, but with enough imagination and a really good puppeteer behind the scenes, children and adults can easily forget the darkness while being immersed in a good story.

For those of you who are not afraid to venture out into the fantastic world of shadow theatre – and also take your kids – The Marriage of Barba-Yiorgos will be played out in Nicosia on Thursday by Thodoris Kostidakis.

Together with the Cultural Workshop Ayion Omologiton, Kostidakis will present the traditional and funny Karagiozis story.

Kostidakis is a member of the Greek Shadow Theatre Association and learnt his trade from his father, Takis Kostidakis. He is not only a shadow theatre performer, but also an experimental drama group facilitator, leading workshops and performances at schools, cultural associations, museums and festivals in Greece and Cyprus.
