Bouncer slightly injured in Napa club scuffle

A nightclub security guard in Ayia Napa was slightly injured in the early hours of Sunday as he tried to wrest a knife from a tourist in side the premises.

The 45-year-old guard sustained an injury to his hand during the scuffle at around 4am.

He had been informed by another customer at the club that the Danish tourist was holding a knife and when he asked the man to hand it over, he refused. The guard was injured trying to take it but managed to succeed and threw the tourist out of the club.

Police were informed and arrested the Danish man, 19. The security guard was treated at a private clinic and discharged.
