Police warn of torrential downpours in mountain areas

Police urged drivers on Sunday to be cautious when driving in the Troodos due to torrential downpours.

They said torrential rains in Troodos, Platres and nearby areas had reduced visibility. There was also a risk of landslides in several parts of the road network, they said.

“Drivers should move at low speeds, maintain safe distances and have their vehicle lights on,” said a police announcement on twitter.
