A Romanian man was found dead by rescue services on Monday morning in the reservoir at Paramali in the Limassol district after falling in while on a fishing trip with friends.

According to CNA, the man fell into the reservoir around 2.30am. Authorities were alerted and a rescue mission put together with divers from the emergency response unit EMAK and firemen.

The British bases also responded to the call for rescuers, CNA said.

The body of the 29-year-old was found shortly before 11am and brought up by divers.
