Rocking with a cause

If you are out and about in Paphos on Sunday, make your way to the Summer Club at Yeroskipou to rock-on with a very special music festival and also become a registered bone marrow donor to be listed in the Karaiskakio Foundation’s archive.

The festival, which will start at 6.30pm, is in memory of Christos Marangos.

This first time festival will bring together a number of rock bands and artists. These include the explosive young rock group OnTour, which was formed in 2012 after two long-time friends decided to bring another four musicians along for an energetic musical ride. Since then the six musicians have performed on a number of music stages on the island and have performed with some of the most popular Greek bands, such as, Locomondo and Mble.

Also the Paphos-based band Rock Ov – which was formed by Marangos’ friends to honour his memory in November 2015 – will be bringing a hard rock feel to the stage.

The festival will end with a performance by the Greek singer Babis Stokas alongside one of the most exceptional rock bands on the island, Prospectus.

All proceeds will go to the Karaiskakio foundation.
