Burglars steal cash from house in Larnaca

More than  €200 was reported stolen from a Larnaca house on Saturday night.

According to police, a man reported that €250 had been stolen from his mother’s house while they were both away between 11.30am and 11.30pm. The man told police that on their way home he had seen three people in the yard jumping from the fence to the garden next door. He said he could not see their faces as it was dark.

The perpetrators entered the house through a back window which they opened  with a sharp object, police said.

During patrols in the area following the report, police said, officers saw a man in a nearby park, who started running as soon as he noticed them. Despite searching the area, they were not able to locate him, police said.
