Runaway boys found safe and sound after all-night search

Two Russian lads aged 11 and 12 who were reported missing from their houses since Sunday afternoon were found safe and well, not far from home, following an all-night search.

The extensive search was launched following their disappearance, which was reported to Oroklini police at 2am on Monday, from the house of one of their mothers, after a telling off.

Police investigations started immediately they received the report with a coordinated search involving civil defence, the marine police and sniffer dogs from the K9 squad of the police.

According to police, the boys were eventually found at about 8am on Monday by civil defence personnel, in an abandoned building in Pyla’s tourist area, not more than a kilometre from their homes.
