Saloon registrations rise 25% in July

The number of saloon car registrations rose an annual 25 per cent in July to 3,260, the highest since June 2011, mainly on an increase in second hand cars, the statistical service said.

The number of second car saloons rose an annual 43 per cent in July to 1,623 while the number of new car registrations rose 11 per cent to 1,637, Cystat said in a statement on its website on Monday.

In the first seven months of the year, the number of saloons registered rose 31 per cent to 19,766, which is the highest in four years, Cystat said.
