Industrial turnover up 3.9% in June

The industrial turnover index rose 3.9 per cent in June compared to the respective period of 2015, mainly on increased turnover in manufacturing and mining and quarrying, the statistical service said.

The turnover in manufacturing rose an annual 6.6 per cent in June while that in mining and quarrying rose 30 per cent, Cystat said in a statement on its website on Tuesday. Turnover in electricity supply dropped 8.9 per cent and in water supply and waste reclamation fell 1.3 per cent.

In the first half of the year, total industrial turnover rose 0.8 per cent on a 5.5 per cent increase in manufacturing and 36 per cent rise in mining and quarrying which offset a 19 per cent slump in electricity supply and 6.9 per cent drop in water supply and waste reclamation.
