Drugs, gun, ammunition found on deceased Lebanese man’s boat

Police on Thursday, were called in after customs officers discovered drugs, a gun and ammunition aboard a vessel docked at Larnaca marina, property of a deceased man.

Police say the finds were made by the customs department who carried out a search of the boat for unrelated reasons, in the presence of a lawyer acting in his capacity as administrator of the estate of the deceased man.

During the search around five grammes of cannabis and nine grammes of hashish were found, along with about a gramme of cocaine and a grinder with traces of cannabis. Also discovered was a pump-action shotgun with two cartridges and 50 nine millimetre rounds of ammunition.

The drugs and accompanying paraphernalia were taken as evidence by Larnaca drug squad, while the gun and ammunition was collected by the CID for further investigation.

No arrests were made and investigations involving both police departments continue.
