Alphamega organise ‘Run as One’ race

Alphamega Hypermarkets, are organising a one kilometre dash and a five kilometre race, within the context of their Corporate Social Responsibility ‘Child, Nutrition and Health’ programme,

Through the programme’s activities, Alphamega aim to inform and sensitise parents and children about the benefits of a well-balanced and healthy nutrition during childhood.

Through the ‘Run as One’ race, Alphamega aim at communicating the multiple benefits that regular exercise and proper diet entail for our health and body.

The mission and main objective of this programme, beyond informing children, is the implementation of a personalised nutrition plan for 2,000 students (between 9-12 years old).

Students who wish to participate in the programme will be able to attend a personal session with an approved member of the Cyprus Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists.

Based on the daily personal diet of each child and in accordance with the results of the measurements that will be recorded, the nutritionist will formulate a personalised nutrition plan for each child and advice. The programme will entail one session for each student, plus two regular casual visits for weight measuring.

Parents should complete and sign the special entry form, which is available at the Alphamega Customer Service Centres / Social Family Centres, by either attaching a copy of the child’s birth certificate or a copy of the child’s identity card. Following this procedure, parents will receive a referral for the free session with the nutritionist.

A list of nutritionists participating in the programme will also be given to all parents so that they can choose a collaborating nutritionist in the nearby area which they live.

Parents are required to book an appointment with the nutritionist prior to their visit and present the referral on the day of the appointment.
All proceeds from the entries in the race ‘Run as One’ will be used to fund this aforementioned action.

The Corporate Social Responsibility programme initiated by the Αlphamega evidently shows the continuous commitment of the company to organise and participate in activities and events that incorporate numerous social and ecological concerns and contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in our country.
