Last year saw the end of the Greek hip-hop band Active Member, after Michalis Mitakidis (a.k.a B.D. Foxmoor), Nikitas Klint and Dimitris Kritikos split ways.
The band, who set the way for other Greek bands to boldly go where they went before, may be a part of musical history, but the ex-member B.D. Foxmoor will be rapping away with his band during two performances on our island next week.
B.D. Foxmoor is much more than a rapper, he is a hip hop producer and the founder of Active Member in 1992. After the band released the first Greek hip hop album, Diamartyria (Protest), in 1993 and became part of the Warner label in 1995 the rapper and producer started to refer to his music as low bap – hip hop with a slower tempo, and often accompanied with lyrics that speak about politics.
A true pioneer in the land of music, B.D. Foxmoor has released many solo albums as well as LPs with Active Member and has also produced many releases of other low bap artists.
The rapper and his band will be taking over your night life on Friday in Nicosia and in Larnaca on Saturday.
