Radiomarathon kicks off

The most successful charity event in Cyprus, the yearly Radiomarathon in aid of children with special needs, started its main collection at 6am on Monday. For two days, collection points are set up in all towns and charity-collection cars are travelling through communities, collecting money in schools and organisations.

This year the event is organised by the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation and the Co-operative Bank. ‘I have a right’ is the slogan for the 27th Radiomarathon, containing the key message the organisers want to promote, that children with special needs are entitled to love and solidarity.

Various other events to raise public awareness and money have already taken place earlier this month. Last year’s Radiomarathon collected €376,103 and helped 926 people.
