Defence minister in Austria talks

In a two-day official visit to Austria, which concluded on Tuesday, defence minister Christoforos Fokaides had bilateral meetings with his Austrian counterpart Hans Peter Doskozil.

During the bilateral meetings at the Austrian Defence ministry, relations between the two countries were reviewed and ways of further strengthening co-operation were discussed, particularly in the training of military personnel.

The two men agreed on the need for further co-operation between European Union member states so that new challenges and threats, including migration flows, terrorism, and regional instability, can be addressed more effectively.

During the visit, Fokaides also met Secretary General of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Lamberto Zannier.
