French foreign minister Jean-Marc Ayrault is due to discuss the international aspects of the Cyprus problem, the issues of security and guarantees and the role played by the security council in the UN led peace talks in meeting to be held in Nicosia, Tuesday.

Discussion concerning bilateral relations are also on the cards as he will meet with his Cypriot counterpart, Ioannis Kasoulides, to talk about issues concerning the EU, security, and energy.

Ayrault is also due to see president Nicos Anastasiades as well as Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci and the UN secretary-general’s special adviser Espen Barth Eide.
