Warrant issued for Brit promising cars

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a British man wanted for fraud and theft, offences allegedly carried out against four local men.

The wanted 45-year-old Briton was reported to the authorities by two men from Sotira, aged 52 and 42, one from Xylotimbou aged 62 and a 48-year-old from Ayia Napa.

The four had arranged to buy a car each in the summer of 2011 that the Briton said he would import from the UK.

The suspect collected a total of €49,000 from the men who say, that till this day, have yet to see delivery of their vehicles or their money returned.
