Female tunes this way come

For two nights this week female singers will be rocking Limassol’s nightlife.

The popular local singer Evridiki, who made it big in Greece in the 90s, will perform at Vinylio Wine Etc on Friday and Saturday.

In recent years the singer has moved more towards rock vibes and electropop culture to present a whole new self to the Greek music world – from her Eurovision song contest days anyway.

She will share the stage with musicians Angelos Vafeidadis on the keyboards and vocal, and Kostis Pirenis also on vocals and guitar.

If you prefer more of a traditional Greek sound – for those who like to hang-out in the Greek live clubs – then Melina Aslanidou will be a better bet.

The singer, who was one of the coaches on the Greek version of The Voice and may well still be a coach on the upcoming season, started out as a member of the band Oi Apenanti from 2000 until 2002. She has been singing solo since 2003, when her debut album To Perasma came out.

Known for her gentle character and sensitive side, Aslanidou is sure to get the audience at the Oro Club waving a few lights in the air and singing along.

Live performance by the singer. November 11-12. Vinylio Wine Etc, Limassol. 9.30pm. Tel: 99-300430
