Starting today the 6X6 Centre for Photography in Limassol will go on a colourful and enchanted journey around the world via the photographs of Polys Pulcherios.
The photographs, taken in Cyprus and abroad, will be displayed in the exhibition entitled En Voyager. The photographs, which were all shot on film, were taken during Pulcherios’ wanderings and tell the tale of his journey.
This is Pulcherios’ first solo exhibition. The series of photographs within this collection capture simple, everyday life moments. These include street scenes, expressive portraits full of colour and still lives. Architectural details are strongly evident in his images. His landscapes, both in black and white and colour, offer the viewer a unique serenity, showcasing Polys’ personal viewpoint on life.
Pulcherios, from Nicosia, studied Economics in London and Insurance studies in Kent. He worked in the insurance sector up to 1997, after which he studied Photographic Technique at the London College of Printing and attended Art Photography seminars in Greece and Cyprus. From 2000 until 2012 he worked as a professional photographer, and then returned to the insurance sector.
He has taken part in group exhibitions in London, Athens, Prague and Cyprus.
