Forged passport arrest

A 29-year-old woman from Cameroon was arrested at Paphos airport for trying to leave Cyprus with a stolen passport on Sunday afternoon.

The woman who was planning to travel to Brussels presented a French passport at the passport control at around 5.45pm. Authorities found that she didn’t resemble the photo on the document.

An investigation revealed that the French passport didn’t belong to her and she was from Cameroon.

When questioned the suspect told police the passport was supplied by a friend of hers from the north.

On Monday, she was remanded for four days by the Paphos District Court to facilitate investigations in connection with forgery, conspiracy to commit a felony and the illegal possession of documents.
