Music from Cuba and film

Music from films based on books and Latin vibes are the basis for the two concerts we suggest for Nicosia and Limassol audiences this Friday.

In Nicosia the Central Stage will sizzle with the passion of Latin American music when the six-member band Havana Noche will give it all they’ve got.

The band, Pedro Son Caliente on vocals, Alex Edward Rodriguez on the piano and vocals, Michalis Michael on the trumpet, Costas Challoumas on upright bass, Alejandro Gonzalez on the congas and Constandinos Paouros on the timbales, is a mixture of musicians from Cuba, Colombia and Cyprus.

Their music is based on authentic Cuban music genres such as son cubano, salsa and cha cha cha.

In Limassol, the stage of the Tracasol Cultural Centre will use the power of music to transport us to the films that inspired them. Two young singers, Stefanos Georgiadis and Yakinthi Lagiou (daughter of the late composer Yakinthi Lagiou), will perform songs from major films, whose scenarios are based on novels.

To help the imagination along, and to perfectly combine literature, music and pictures, the performance will include projections.
Tickets can be bought onto from http://shop.tickethour.com/ or at all ACS Courier branches.
