Ayios Savvas icon stolen from church

An icon of Ayios Savva was stolen from a church of the same name in Paphos district, police said Friday.

“it was reported to police by a 55-year-old man, that between the dates of December 5 and 16, unknown persons broke into the church of Ayios Savva, which is located in the village of Prastio, in Paphos district, and stole the icon of Ayios Savva, worth €5,000, which dates back to 1930.”

Officers called to the scene collected various pieces of evidence which will be sent for forensic examination.

Kelokethara police station are continuing investigations.
