Man critical after work accident

Referrals to specialist doctors in public hospitals scheduled between June 1 and August 31, 2019 will be carried out as already arranged

A man was in critical condition in Nicosia hospital after a work accident at a building site in Larnaca on Friday, police said.

“At around 10.30am today (Friday) a 59-year-old man working on building under construction in Larnaca, under circumstances that are being investigated, lost his balance and fell from a height of about two meters.”

Police say the man was initially taken to Larnaca general hospital where doctors found he was suffering from a traumatic brain injury. Due to the severity of his condition he was transferred to Nicosia general was surgery.

Examinations at the scene were carried out by police and officials from the labour office.

The case was investigated by officers from Oroklini police station.
