Title battle resumes ahead of Christmas

League leaders AEK are in action on Wednesday at Karmiotissa

Due to this weekend’s Christmas festivities, Round 16 of the Cyprus football championship gets underway on Wednesday and features five matches, with leaders AEK and champions both Apoel in action.

Second-placed AEL take to the field on Thursday, when the final two games of the round will be played.

Doxa v Omonia and Karmiotissa v AEK (5pm)
Anagennisis Deryneia v Ermis and Apollon v AEZ (6pm)
Apoel v Nea Salamina (7pm)

Ethnikos Achnas v AEL (4pm)
Anorthosis v Aris (5pm)

The draw for the Last-16 of the Cyprus Cup was made on Tuesday meanwhile, with Nicosia giants Apoel and Omonia drawing the same opposition as last year.
Omonia beat Ethnikos 5-1 on aggregate in the two-legged tie, while Apoel beat Salamina 4-2 on aggregate.
