Larnaca press

A man was killed early Wednesday morning after he was hit multiple times by cars while attempting to cross the Ayia Napa to Larnaca highway near the village of Livadia.

It was 6.20am when the 50-year-old Bulgarian national was hit by a vehicle driven by a 49-year-old man from Livadia as he tried to cross the highway near the Aradippou exit.

Reports said the man was repeatedly run over as he was not visible to other oncoming drivers in the wake of the first vehicle, resulting in his body being discovered dismembered at the scene.

Police are carrying out investigations to ascertain the circumstances of the accident.

The stretch of highway where the accident took place was closed for some three hours with traffic diverted through Oroklini.
