A new sound takes over Limassol on Saturday

DJ Clinthie will help us get lost in music on Saturday when she takes to the Favela Club in Limassol for a whole night of house music.

Berlin-based DJ and producer – the creative mind behind the Beste Modus and Unison Wax record labels – began her obsession with music as a teenager. She began spinning records at clubs in the 1990s, before going on to sign with Low Spirit Recordings at the turn of the century and finding herself in demand at parties everywhere from Moscow to Mexico.

These days Cinthie is a resident at [IPSE] and Humboldthain Club, where her vinyl-only DJ sets and ability to weave deep-yet-bassy mixes have seen her become a figurehead among the next generation of German house-music virtuosos.

Alongside partners in crime Diego Krause and Ed Herbst, she has managed to create a new sound for herself, drawing heavily on old-school Chicago house and US garage influences as well as her own Techno-oriented past to create something uniquely hers.

This singular sound has managed to take Berlin and Europe by storm. It has managed to bridge the gap between Tech house and Deep House and bring to our ears a sound with a deeper edge that draws us all onto the dance floor.

So, hit the dancefloor we will, and stay there until early the next morning, when the cutting-edge sounds of DJ Clinthie will still be ringing in our ears.
