A post-mortem on the body of a dead man who was found outside the Mall of Cyprus early on Thursday morning planned for Friday morning is expected to reveal the cause of his death.

The dead man, a 37-year-old Georgian national, was reportedly located by a security guard working at the mall near the small roundabout outside the shopping centre at around 6.45am. He alerted the police who went immediately to the area and closed the road to traffic.

The man was believed to have been dead for around 12 hours when he was found.

State pathologist Nicolas Charalambous examined the body at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that there was no foul play as no injuries were found on the body. Police confirmed that for now they are considering the case as a sudden death.

The post-mortem will be performed by state pathologist Eleni Antoniou at 9am.
