New ombudswoman appointed, Savvidou’s term ends

The cabinet on Friday appointed state attorney Maria Stylianou Lottidis as the new ombudswoman.

She will be replacing Eliza Savvidou whose term ended on Wednesday.

Lottidis’ appointment must be approved by parliament, which is expected to discuss the matter in its next session. Lottidis is related to the family that owns Kathimerini newspaper.
