Running a red light on the rise

CYPRIOT drivers are incorrigible when it comes to the traffic code.

According to statement released by police on Thursday, during a nationwide control campaign from March 27 to April 2, a total of 606 drivers were booked for running a red light.

“Running a red light is not merely a traffic violation. It can be extremely dangerous, and on many occasions it has led to car collisions, sometimes deadly,” the police said.
