Arrest after Limassol man says he was beaten up

Police arrested two 28-year-olds in Limassol suspected of having beaten up a man on Monday evening during an attempt to steal money from him.

The alleged victim, aged 35, reported to police that while he was driving in Limassol around 10pm he was stopped by three persons who asked him to hand over €500.

When he refused to give them money they attacked him and stole the keys of his car, he said.

The alleged victim went to Limassol General Hospital where he was treated and discharged.
