Closure of two lanes near Gavrielides lights due to building demolition

The department of public works said on Tuesday that that the two lanes towards the Gavrielides traffic lights in on the section of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue in Nicosia between Makarios Avenue – Lycavitos police station and Yerasimos Markora Street would be closed to traffic until Sunday, May 7 at 8 am.

The two lanes will be closed for safety reasons due to private building demolition in the area, it said. “Falling debris from the demolition could endanger pedestrians and passing vehicles and therefore the decision was considered necessary,” a statement said.

The department apologised for the inconvenience and asked drivers and pedestrians to follow traffic signs and detours.
