Pregnant woman found dead in Trachoni

A 33-year-old heavily pregnant woman was found dead on Friday morning by her spouse in their home in Trachoni while efforts to save the baby were unsuccessful.

According to the police, the woman’s husband found her unconscious in bed at around 8.30am and called an ambulance that transferred her to the Limassol general hospital. Police said that the ambulance arrived at the hospital at around 9.10am.

The 33-year-old was pronounced dead by the medical staff. Intensive efforts to save the 39-week old foetus were unsuccessful.

The post mortem is expected to shed light on the cause of the woman’s death.
