Company defrauded of €18,650 after email hack

After hacking into the email accounts of two people unknown persons defrauded €18,650 from the owner of a company.

At the beginning of May the 51-year-old owner of a company that rents biological toilets agreed via email to buy toilets worth €40,000 from an overseas company, he reported to police.

He then sent €18,650 to an overseas bank as a down payment.

However, both emails had been hacked and the money never got to the company but was sent to another person’s account.
