Protesters demand a settlement

Photos: Reuters

Dozens of pro-peace Greek and Turkish Cypriots formed a human chain on Ledra Street, in the section that straddles the buffer zone, which divides the island, to demonstrate their demand for a settlement. The demonstrators sang songs and danced and asked the leaders of the two communities to be leaders not losers. Greek and Turkish Cypriots have been assembling at the same spot for the past two weeks or so.
