1,770 sit police exams

A total of 1,770 sat police exams on Saturday hoping to land one of 250 jobs in the force.

The exams, taken at 15 places in Limassol and Nicosia, passed without incident police spokesman Andreas Angelides said.

Of the 250 vacancies, 210 are with the police and 40 with the fire brigade.

Angelides said it was the first time since 2011 that police exams have been say by anyone and also the first time there was no spoken exam.
