 Man arrested for possession of cannabis

A 31-year-old man was arrested early Sunday for the alleged possession of drugs and for allegedly transporting a 30-year-old Tunisian from the north to the government controlled areas.

According to reports, police had received a tip-off on Saturday that the suspect had picked up the 30-year-old from Pergamos, in the Larnaca district on Friday and drove him to the government controlled areas. Following a search in the suspect’s car, police located the Tunisian’s passport, and a bag with cannabis.

The 31-year-old was arrested, while police are searching for the whereabouts of the 30-year-old.
