Traffic-data meter stolen from highway point

A traffic-data meter belonging to the public works department on the Rizoelia- Ayia Napa motorway worth €5,000 was stolen, a witness reported to police.

According to police, the overseer for the particular machine reported to the Oroklini police station that on Monday around 3am, the meter was gone.

The machine recorded various traffic data on motorways which were sent every five minutes to the database of the department of public works. The last time data was sent was on June 10 at 3am. When new data failed to come through, checks established that the meter had been stolen.
