Five and a half years for drug cultivation and possession

The Paphos court on Wednesday sentenced a 30-year-old man to five and a half years in prison for the cultivation and possession of illegal drugs.

On March 9, 2015 the drug squad found 68 cannabis plants and 8.9 kilos of cannabis in two Paphos homes.

The man was arrested in the Czech Republic in connection with the case on May 17, 2016, after Cyprus had issued a European arrest warrant against him.

He was handed over to Cyprus police on February 2, 2017 and arrested at Larnaca airport upon his arrival.
